I had always wanted to visit Valkenburg Castle Ruins and chose Dormio Wijnhotel Valkenburg for its convenient location. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the helpful tour/ticket assistance provided by the multilingual staff at this smoke-free hotel. It made my visit to the castle even more enjoyable. Plus, I loved the classic French cuisine served in the dining room with a grand piano.

The wine theming in our room at Dormio Wijnhotel Valkenburg was not as impressive as expected. We were looking forward to trying some wines at the bar, but the lack of staff presence made it difficult.

The hotel is conveniently located right opposite the train station, making arrival and departure easy. The quiet location allows for a peaceful stay, while still being within a short walk to the center and shops of Valkenburg. The nearby bus station provides convenient transportation options to explore Maastricht for serious shopping. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful, ensuring a pleasant and welcoming atmosphere. The breakfast offers a wide selection of food and is served in a pleasant setting.

The view from the balcony of the hills was delightful. The room was spacious and clean with all the required amenities available.

The staff seemed indifferent to our arrival, and there was no one to assist us with our luggage. The noise levels inside the rooms were high, and it was difficult to get a good night's sleep with the sounds of guests and cars outside the hotel.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs and even upgraded our room at a lower cost. The beds were cozy and the spacious bathroom was a luxury. The location near the train station was very convenient. We were pleasantly surprised by the cozy warm room upon arrival. The separate toilet and fabulous shower felt like true luxuries. The wellness suite was mind-blowing with a huge, soft bed, luxurious sauna, and comfortable furnishings. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and top-quality food. The staff's attention to detail, such as returning a forgotten item to our home address, was outstanding.

The hotel is situated right next to the train station, which is convenient if you have to travel by train. The lively old town is just a short walk away, making it easy to explore the area. The breakfast has a great choice and top quality.

The service was not up to par as staff seemed annoyed by our late arrival and we never had any interaction with them during our stay.

Amazingly friendly check-in and great service overall. With the train station opposite, easy access to nearby Maastricht and other main cities. Nice restaurant with a piano for guests to play. Owners and staff take care of every guest really well.
